Excavator Boom Strikes Worker

A pipeline crew was using a track hoe when the operator's jacket caught on the control stick and engaged it. The operator was unaware that this occurred and then disengaged the control lockout lever (safety bar). As a result, the boom swung approximately one meter and struck a worker who was standing beside the boom.
