Dangerous Tree Control Guideline
This updated guideline is designed to be more user-friendly and is intended for use at any upstream energy work site where free-standing trees are located at or near the site boundaries. It is intended to raise awareness among workers, employers, prime contractors and facility owners about the hazards associated with dangerous trees, along with relevant regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
Energy Safety Canada Resources Purpose of the Guideline
This resource supports all levels of management in ensuring the safety of workers performing activities near dangerous trees. It is applicable across a range of upstream work sites, including:
- Camps
- Facilities
- Pipelines
- Access roads
- Seismic lines or line-of-sight areas
- Aircraft landing zones
- Well sites
