Wood Buffalo Wildlife Intermediate


Wood Buffalo Wildlife Intermediate explores characteristics of wildlife commonly found in the Wood Buffalo region, reporting wildlife interactions, regulatory obligations, carrying deterrents and proficiently utilizing bear spray in simulated wildlife encounters. Using the foundational knowledge of the Wood Buffalo Wildlife Awareness course, delve deeper into wildlife features, encounters, reporting and response strategies.

Includes mandatory bear spray practical online exercise. Meets Suncors's bear spray requirements. Suncor's equivalent training is RMWB Wildlife Intermediate.


  • Upon successful completion of this course, a certificate that is valid for three years will be available to print.
  • Passing grade on exam 70%
  • Participants are given five attempts at the final exam. It is strongly recommended to review all course material between attempts. If all attempts are unsuccessful, re-registration into the course is required, fees will apply.
  • Students have access to the course for 90 days from initial registration. If not completed within that time, registration fees will not be reimbursed. (See Cancellation Policy)
