First Line Supervisor Blowout Prevention Exam Challenge


This is an exam challenge registration for First Line Supervisor Blowout Prevention. It can be challenged for two consecutive recertification cycles. Each recertification cycle is 3 years.

Students opting to challenge the exam must first register with Energy Safety Canada. Once registered, the student is responsible to contact an approved testing facility to schedule a date and time for the exam (Sitting fees may apply). The exam will be conducted on a computer at an Authorized Training Provider through an online proctoring system. The exam will only be accessible once you arrive at the testing facility.

  • Upon successful completion of this course, a Certificate that is valid for three years will be available to print
  • Passing grade on exam 70%
  • The examination may be challenged every second renewal
  • An electronic copy of the self-study manual will be accessible within your First Line exam challenge registration, in your EnergySafetyCanada.com account
  • There is no rewrite attempt for unsuccessful challenge exams. If you are unsuccessful, you will be required to take the full course. Fees apply
  • Sitting fees may apply at approved testing facilities
  • Students have 90 days from initial registration to complete the exam. If not completed within that time, registration fees will not be reimbursed see Cancelation Policy

Prerequisites:

  • One of the following
    • A valid First Line Supervisor Blowout Prevention certificate
    • A valid Second Line Supervisors Well Control certificate

    The above certificates may be accepted and can be expired but not exceeding two years. Note: Students must have previously completed the First Line Supervisor Blowout Prevention course at some point in the past

    • Government issued photo ID
    • Non-programable calculator
    • Approved testing facility in your area
    • Students must be adequately prepared to participate in English for required course elements
