IMPORTANT NOTICE | AUDIT REGISTRATION FREEZE

June 15, 2023

New audit software tool launching Fall 2023. COR audit registrations freeze begins July 10.
Energy Safety Canada is launching a new audit software tool this fall, as the existing tool is being retired by the vendor on September 29. In preparation, there will be a freeze on COR audit registrations beginning July 10.

Any new COR audits not registered by July 10, 2023 must wait until the new audit software tool is launched in September. This is to accommodate the required time periods for the submission of auditor reports, feedback and corrections before the existing tool is no longer available.
What you need to know:
  • Current Tool Registrations: Ensure the audit start date will allow enough time to complete the audit, and submit it no later than September 1.
  • COR's that are expiring:  If your COR is expiring during the freeze period, please contact Energy Safety Canada for expiry extension options.
  • Audits Scheduled:  If you already have an audit scheduled during the freeze period, Auditors and Employers should discuss if there is flexibility to reschedule using the New Audit Tool.
New Audit Tool
The new audit software tool is scheduled to launch in September and will have improved functionality and other features, including an audit progress dashboard.
