Line of Fire incidents remain one of the top causes of serious injury and death.

According to the Alberta and Saskatchewan Workers' Compensation Board reports from 2002-23, contact with objects and equipment was the third-highest cause of fatality for workers. Many of these incidents happen during routine work — moving equipment, isolating energy or handling materials. The Line of Fire (LOF) Program gives companies a full set of tools to identify, control and learn from high-energy hazards—situations where a worker could be struck, crushed or caught by moving objects, pressure releases or stored energy. This program helps organizations:

  • Recognize and control high-energy hazards
  • Understand the difference between high- and low-energy tasks
  • Apply the right safeguards before work begins
  • Learn from close calls and near misses — not blame them

This program is ready to use and fully customizable. It’s especially valuable for small and mid-size companies building or improving their health and safety systems.
