Transporting explosives in Canada requires strict adherence to federal regulations designed to protect workers, the public and the environment. Carriers must ensure their drivers are trained not only in Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG), but also in the requirements of Part 9 of the Explosives Regulations. The material for this course was developed in conjunction with the Enserva Perforating Committee and its sub-committee of industry professionals, subject matter experts and Energy Safety Canada instructors.
Shippers also play a critical role by ensuring that packaging, documentation and shipment preparation fully meet the requirements of both TDG, the Explosives Act and Explosives Regulation.
The Transportation of Explosives course equips drivers, logistics personnel and shippers with the knowledge required to safely and legally transport explosives in Canada. Participants will learn the regulatory requirements set by Transport Canada – Explosives Regulatory Division, along with the responsibilities and industry best practices for the compliant transportation of explosives.
