Wellhead Boom Truck Operator


Workers who are engaged in wellhead pumping wireline, coiled tubing operations, snubbing and perforating operations, and rig up and rig out slant service rig operations will learn the safe operation of wellhead boom trucks.

  • Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training (AIT) will issue apprenticeship and journeyman trade certificates for this course
  • No Energy Safety Canada certificate given for this course but a Training Record can be issued upon request

  • Classes begin at 8:00 a.m. sharp and may continue beyond 4:30 p.m. MT

Prerequisites

  • Candidates wishing to pursue an apprenticeship in the WHBT trade must first be approved through Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training (AIT). For further details visit Tradesecrets Alberta.

Requirements

  • Once approved with AIT as a Registered Apprentice, participants can apply to register for this course
  • Participants must complete the Wellhead Boom Truck application form. Once Energy Safety Canada approves your application, a confirmation email will be sent to you with course registration details
  • CSA Approved hard hat
  • CSA Approved seasonal footwear
  • CSA Approved safety glasses
  • Flame-resistant protective coveralls or clothing
  • Seasonal leather gloves
  • Please ensure you bring your own equipment
  • Government-issued photo ID
  • Students must be adequately prepared to participate in English for required course elements
