Bear Awareness
As someone who ventures into bear country, your awareness and understanding of bears is critical to carrying out your activities safely and efficiently. Good habits and a focused approach are essential to minimize the risks of hostile encounters.
- Upon successful completion of this course, a certificate that does not expire will be available to print
- There is no exam for this course, but a quiz at the end is required for completion
- Participants are given five attempts at the quizz. It is strongly recommended to review all course material between attempts. If all attempts are unsuccessful, re-registration into the course is required. Fees will apply
- Students have access to the course for 90 days from initial registration. If not completed within that time, registration fees will not be reimbursed see Cancelation Policy

- Behaviors, ranges, habitats
- Differences between defensive and predatory attacks
- Handling and/or preventing encounters and deterrents
Requirements
- Government-issued photo ID
- Students must be adequately prepared to participate in English for required course elements Student Language Resources
