View your profileGain a basic knowledge and understanding of oilwell explosives. It teaches the skills necessary to prevent incidents and to protect yourself, the public, property and the environment.
This course has been developed in conjunction with the Petroleum Services Association of Canada (PSAC) and government representatives from Western Canada and the Territories to provide a minimum industry training standard for blasting in oil and gas wells.
DESIGNED FOR
Workers engaged in well operations such as wire line perforating and completions, TCP perforating, explosive fracturing, pipe recovery and tool services.
Note: Slickliners are welcome to take this course, however, the course deals primarily with electric line perforating.
TOPICS INCLUDE
Individuals seeking an interprovincial Oilwell Blasters permit must:
If you are taking the course for general informational purposes there are no prerequisites or examinations. You will not be eligible for an interprovincial certificate, but you will receive a Record of Attendance letter upon completion.
APPLICATION PROCESS
Your application must be approved at least two working days prior to the start of the course.
Upon successful completion of the written exam, you will receive an industry-standard Certificate of Completion that is valid for five years.
Enform also issues an interprovincial Oilwell Blaster’s permit, valid throughout the Yukon, Northwest Territories, Alberta, British Columbia, and Manitoba, to those who successfully completing the prescribed interprovincial Oilwell Blaster’s examination.
