The Enform Wellhead Boom Truck Operator (WHBT) course is the technical training component for candidates pursuing apprenticeship in the WHBT trade. Candidates wishing to pursue an apprenticeship in the WHBT trade must first submit a completed Apprenticeship Application Form to Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training (AIT) for approval. Application forms and additional information on the WHBT trade are available from any AIT office or at Trade Secrets Alberta.

Once registered with AIT and accepted as a Registered Apprentice, the candidate may apply and register for the Enform WHBT course.

Application Instructions:

Once the candidate application has been processed and accepted by AIT:

1. Complete and submit the WHBT application form to whbt@energysafetycanada.com
2. Upon notification from Enform that the application is successful, contact Enform (enrolment services) to enroll in an upcoming WHBT course
As an alternative to attending regularly scheduled WHBT courses at Enform offices, Enform also offers this course on a contract basis at employer sites. Employers may contact whbt@enform.ca for details and contract pricing.

Results from this course (70% pass grade) are the technical training element for the WHBT trade and will be forwarded to Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training (AIT). As AIT issues the apprenticeship and journeyman trade certificates for this program, no Enform Certificate is issued. In addition to this technical training, participants are required to satisfy all AIT trade requirements including successful completion of the AIT theory exam and supervised mentoring with a journeyperson WHBT operator to achieve journeyman trade status.
